Dr. Manjunath Ramanna Lamani is an accomplished academician, researcher, author, and academic leader serving as Head of the Department and Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Moodlakatte Institute of Technology (MITK), Kundapura. He is a VTU-recognized Research Supervisor and actively mentors students and researchers in emerging technologies.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Computer Vision, NLP, Explainable AI, Multimodal AI, Cybersecurity, Federated Learning, Edge AI, and Data Science. His research contributions have received 149 Google Scholar citations and 100+ Scopus citations. He has more than 8 published patents and has contributed to more than 7 textbooks/books in emerging areas of computing and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Lamani has actively organized Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), national-level technical events, conferences, workshops, and 24-hour hackathons, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among students. His leadership focuses on research excellence, innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and holistic student development.
